EndorsementsRoger Sutton, former Senior Pastor, Altrincham Baptist Church"I have met the students UgandAid help train, educate and inspire. They are deeply grateful to their sponsors for the vocational training they receive, which leads to regular employment and enables them to feed, clothe and support their families. UgandAid is helping to Make Poverty History one young person at a time." Councillor Harry Faulkner, former Mayor of Trafford, visited Jinja in February 2002''There is no doubting the high quality of vocational training available at NVI. Previously vulnerable youngsters, many of them orphans, now have the real hope of a better future; that much is written across their shining faces. They greatly value the skills training and personal encouragement that is made possible by the generosity of those more fortunate; people like you and me. Most of all they are grateful that someone, somewhere cares enough to want to help". (August 2002) Councillor David Acton, former leader, Trafford Council"Trafford Council's decision to host the Ugandan national team during the recent Commonwealth Games reflects the close links that already exist between the people of Trafford and Jinja in Uganda. I encourage all of our community - residents, businesses and organisations, particularly schools to support the UgandAid scheme. We must learn to look beyond our immediate circumstances and recognise just how much we have to offer to young people who have nothing". (August 2002) Carole Hassan, former Chief Executive, Trafford Council"I have been extremely impressed with the joint working and relationships that Trafford residents have built in Uganda, particularly within the fields of healthcare and education. This is more than just kindness and compassion; this is making a real difference to many lives, even saving lives. It is showing cross community solidarity. I am pleased to support the aims of the UgandAid scheme". (August 2002)
Councillor Susan Williams, former leader, Trafford CouncilThe UgandAid scheme has received the support of council leader, mayor and chief executive since its small beginning in 2002, when the Mayor of Trafford visited Jinja and witnessed the high quality of vocational training available at NVI. As the relationship between the two communities has developed, the kindness and compassion shown by Trafford residents has changed lives and given real hope to hundreds of youngsters in Uganda who would otherwise have nothing. On behalf of the council I am pleased to support the aim of UgandAid: to make a difference. (July 2007)
